today has been one of the most exasperating days in recent memory....
Yesterday i convinced our general manager (aka the big guy) at our office to switch to an apple computer. so yesterday i go to austin, get a 24'' imac , spend the rest of the afternoon migrating his files from his old computer to the imac and before i left last night i set it to run the system updates. well this morning i try to use it and get several (five or more) kernel panics. i thought this was pretty strange since i had my last apple laptop for almost five years and had only three kernel panics. So i called apple care and the dude walked me through some stuff and was like you're going to have to format this thing. so i got off the phone with him and started the format and then got another kernel panic. i restarted it to try again, but the computer wasn't detecting a hard drive. so i called apple care again and explained the situation. they suggested i return it to the apple store i bought it at and get a new one.
So i called the apple store to make sure this was cool and they were like, "yeh," I also asked if i needed to make an appointment or something at the genius bar and they were like, "no." so i left to go to austin to return it, but when i get to the store i'm told that i do have to make an appointment and that the next one was at 3:30pm. I was pretty annoyed about this and said the girl i spoke to on the phone said i didn't. they told me she was mistaken and that everyone had to make an appointment. so then i drove around austin for like two and a half hours bored out of my mind and then went back. well once i get up to speak to the genius i was told that i didn't have to have an appointment for a return. i told her "that dude" (i pointed at him) said i did. she told me he was mistaken. i asked her for my two and a half hours back and she said she couldn't do that, but she was sorry. i let her off because she was pretty cute....
so there you have my entire day and dealings with the apple store. when i got back i went back to my office to set the whole thing up again.
so in addition to all of that while writing this post i received an email saying that the lydia shirt i ordered had been delivered to the wrong address. thankfully the lady that received it was nice enough to send me an email and meet me to get the shirt.
i guess some days are just like that... i mean i'm not really that mad about anything that happened, but i will say it was a long long day.
oh yeh, i heard the new single of circa survive's new record and it is good. so is the new from autumn to ashes record (their last one sucked).
