on the begining of life

cadence michelle hinote was born today to my friends wes and rhonda hinote. it's so weird to me thinking that yesterday wes and rhonda were just wes and rhonda, but today they are now wes, rhonda and cadence. i don't think that i could even begin to fathom the range of emotions they are going through right now.

one emotion that was apparent throughout the day though, was love. For most of the afternoon i was the only person there besides wes and rhonda's parents and wes' brother. it was amazing to me to watch the interaction between the parents / children and the parents / grandchildren on a multi-generational level and finally between two people who are married and had just brought a child into the world. it was just interesting to see everyone interact and it was like you could tell that the love being shown was a more genuine and selfless love than one usually sees.

Seeing all of this i couldn't help but to think back to the bible study i had done that very morning that discussed the love of God toward us. God loves us more than any one person could ever love another and i think that sometimes we get so wrapped up in other things that we forget that. The only thing that comes even close to that kind of love is the love of a parent toward their child.

this post might not make a lot of sense to anyone, but i feel like i've learned a lot today...
